Mascom cooperates for CI-Modules with XCrypt
Unterbergen, Mai 28, 2009 - The manufacturer of the popular AlphaCrypt-CI-Modules Mascom Ltd will develop them in the future also on the platform of the Korean Technology provider XCrypt Inc.
The name XCrypt is well known for the efficient encryption system but the technology provider has also a hardware platform based on own chipset development. The platform works with the own encryption but other CA systems like Conax, Irdeto, Nagravision, NDS etc could be also integrated to it after licensing.
The new partnership with XCrypt gives us the opportunity for a flexible development and manufacturing of the CI Modules¡° says Mr. Heinz Gruber, General Manager of MASCOM. This is because the new technology platform is absolutely DVB compatible. The demand for CI-Modules keeps the positive trend on the markets. Based on the current information more than 40 different CI Modules are offered, more than 2 Million households in Germany are using CI Modules to receive encrypted programs from cable or satellite despite the negative attitude of Kabel Deutschland and Premiere about the fact.
